ALBANY, Ga. – The Auburn Montgomery baseball team took on Albany State on Thursday afternoon, falling to the hosts Golden Rams 11-1.

Jonathan Brandt went 1-2 with a double and walk.

Nathan Langley went 0-3 with the Warhawks lone RBI.

Tanner Russell went 1-3 with a run scored.
• On the mound, junior right-handed pitcher
Brett Lightsey got the start and logged two innings, allowing one run off three hits with a strikeout.
• For Albany State, Riliani Familia went 3-3 with two RBI and two runs scored. Roman Oilu got the victory for ASU, holding AUM to one run off three hits in 5.0 innings of work.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Albany State took the lead in the bottom of the third, opening the stanza with Quan Dodson-Williams reaching bases via a hit by pitch and later scoring off a double from Familia. Kelvin Wimbish advanced Familia on the ensuing at bat with a single, followed by a sacrifice fly from Nic Griggs to score Familia for the Golden Rams' second run of the frame.
• After beginning the bottom of the fourth with back-to-back outs, a fielding error by AUM allowed Lawrence Hyde to reach base, later scoring on a single from Dodson-Williams.
• AUM cut into the deficit in the top of the fifth, leading off with a single from Russell and platting him off a sacrifice fly from Langley.
• ASU began the bottom of the fifth with two walks sandwiching a double by Tyler Morris to load the bases with no outs, scoring two runs off a walk and hit by pitch on consecutive at bats to make it 5-1. On the following batter, an error by the Warhawks allowed two runs to score, creating a 7-1 score. Three RBI singles and an AUM wild pitch allowed four more runs to score, sending the Warhawks up to bat trailing 11-1.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• AUM tallied four hits, two doubles, while Albany State boasted 12 hits with three going for extra bases.
• The Warhawks left seven runners on base, ASU stranded 15.
• AUM recorded three errors, resulting in four Albany State runs. The hosts committed no errors.
