Men’s Tennis Drops 8-1 Decision To #7 Saint Leo

ORLANDO, Fla. – Playing against the No. 7 ranked Saint Leo Lions on Tuesday afternoon the No. 22 ranked Auburn Montgomery men's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision on the road, falling to .500 on the season with the setback.
 
MATCH NOTES
• AUM falls to 4-4 on the year.
• Saint Leo improves to 8-0 on the season.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• No. 1 Singles: Thomas Grinberg defeated Eban Straker-Meads 6-2, 7-5.  
• No. 2 Singles: Alvaro Terron defeated Vincent Suillerot 7-6, 2-6, 10-8.  
• No. 3 Singles: Jaime Bueno defeated Francisco Jimenez 6-1, 6-2.  
• No. 4 Singles: Bruno Babic defeated Santiago Veglia 6-4, 6-4.
• No. 5 Singles: Francisco Aparicio defeated Giovanni Bellio 1-6, 6-4, 13-11  
• No. 6 Singles:  Willem van den Akker won by default.
 
• No. 1 Doubles: Grinberg and Suillerot defeated Jimenez and Terron 8-4.
• No. 2 Doubles: Bueno and van den Akker defeated Straker-Meads and Veglia 8-4.
• No. 3 Doubles:  Aparicio and Babic won by default.

SINGLES – 6, 3, 1, 2, 5, 4
DOUBLES – 3, 1, 2
 
UP NEXT
The AUM men's team will play at #3 Lynn University on Wednesday, in their third match in as many days. The match in set to begin at 3 p.m. on the campus of the Fighting Knights.
