MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn Montgomery softball team will host Gulf South Conference foe Valdosta State in a three game series beginning on Thursday at 2 p.m. followed by a doubleheader on Friday beginning at noon.

About the Warhawks
AUM is 12-6 on the season with a 7-5 mark in league play. The Warhawks are coming off of their first home conference series victory in program history this past weekend, earning a 2-1 series win over West Alabama. AUM took game one 1-0 and game two 7-3 before falling in game three 3-2.
 
Freshman infielder Hannah Dailey leads the team offensively, hitting for a .319 average with a team-high 16 runs scored, and is tied for the team lead in RBI with nine. Sophomore Jaycie Walker is second on the team in batting average with a .302 mark and leads the team in total bases with 22.
 
Junior Natalie Johnsey leads the team in earned run average with a mark of 1.99 over 38.2 innings pitched, with teammate Chanel Newcomer posting a team-best 43 strikeouts over 47.2 innings. Newcomer leads the team in innings pitched and wins with a record of 6-3.
 
About the Blazers
VSU is 19-7 this season and 7-5 in league action. The Blazers are coming off of a doubleheader sweep of non-conference opponent Georgia Southwestern on Tuesday, earning 2-1 and 7-3 victories over the Hurricanes.
 
The Blazers are led by senior utility player Jessica Mohl who is fourth in the GSC with a .452 batting average, tallying 38 hits over 25 games while driving in 21 runs and scoring 27. Teammate Taylor Hartenbach is second on the team in batting average with a mark of .375, while leading the team in RBI with 27.
 
Sophomore hurler Kathryn Carter leads the team in appearances and wins with a record of 6-2. Carter has a team low 2.46 ERA while teammate Kasie Johnson leads the team in strikeouts with 26.
