MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn Montgomery baseball team began a six-contest week on Tuesday evening against Spring Hill College, falling to the visiting Badgers 4-1.
NOTES
• AUM falls to 11-17 overall.
• Spring Hill College improves to 12-13.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS

Logan Nix went 2-3 at the plate.

Todd Burkett recorded an RBI off a sacrifice fly in his lone at bat.

Davis Dunn went 0-0 with a walk and run scored.

Hayden Friesen drew a pair of walks.
• Redshirt junior right-handed pitcher
Connor Smith (0-2) logged a season-high 5.2 with four runs allowed off nine hits.
• Freshman righty
Preston Clark tossed 2.1 scoreless innings with one hit allowed and one strikeouts.
• For Spring Hill, Luke Wall went 4-5 while John Sklopan went 2-4 with two RBI and a run scored. Grant Schroeder (2-1) tossed eight innings with one run allowed off five hits with five strikeouts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Spring Hill took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third on a leadoff home run from Skopeland.
• The Badgers added to their lead in the top of the fifth, using a two-out single from Williams to send Wall home from second and create a 2-0 score.
• SHC added insurance runs in the top of the sixth with a one-out single from Romero, platting Fontenot, and a two-out hit from Sklopan scoring Smith to extend the visitor's lead to 4-0.
• AUM cut into the separation in the bottom of the eighth, using a sacrifice fly from Burkett to plate Dunn who led off the frame with a base on balls to make it 4-1.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• AUM tallied six hits while Spring Hill had 12.
• The Warhawks left 11 runners on base, SHC stranded five.
• AUM recorded one error.
