MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn Montgomery baseball team wrapped up a three-game Gulf South Conference series against Shorter University on Monday afternoon, falling to the visiting Hawks 11-0.
NOTES
• AUM falls to 15-22 overall, 5-16 in Gulf South Conference action.
• Shorter moves to 19-18, 9-12 in GSC play.

Brandon Baynes went 1-2 with a walk.

Logan Nix went 1-3.

Curtiss Johnson went 1-3.
• Redshirt sophomore right-handed pitcher
Hank Scott got the start for AUM in the rubber match, allowing seven runs, three earned, off 11 hits with four strikeouts.
• For Shorter, Samyr Santos went 4-5 with two runs scored and one RBI while Banks Woodley got the win on the mound after holding AUM scoreless over 7.0 innings with three hits allowed.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Three errors for AUM in the top of the second allowed Shorter to score three runs.
• Shorter added to their lead in the top of the fourth, using a sacrifice fly from Nathaniel Buttersworth to send Hunter Reaid home and make it 4-0.
• The visitors added insurance runs in the top of the seventh, starting with a RBI single from Santos to send Raul Cortes home. A sacrifice fly by Ivan Nunez later in the stanza scored Santos while a two-out single from Luis Acavedo platted Isaiah Maddela to create a 7-0 score.
• Loading the bases with one out in the top of the eighth, a single from Ethan Radcliffe and double from Nunez in back-to-back at bats scored Cortes, Santos and Maddela while a sacrifice fly from Acavedo sent Cortes home to extend the separation to 11-0.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• AUM tallied three hits while Shorter had 15.
• The Warhawks left three runners on base, Shorter stranded nine.
• AUM had four errors, Shorter had one.
