MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn Montgomery men's soccer team fell 3-1 to the Argonauts of West Florida on Friday, Sept. 28 in Gulf South Conference action.
With the loss, the Warhawks record sit at 2-7 overall, 1-2 versus GSC opponents.

Sverrir Smarason recorded his first goal of the 2018 season on a penalty kick for the Warhawks.

Phillip Spickenbaum both tallied two shots on the evening, with both of Spickenbaum's efforts coming on frame.

Alexander Kraus (1-6) grabbed four saves on the evening.
How it Happened
- The Argonauts struck first with a goal in the 15th minute.
- AUM would respond quickly however, as Smarason's penalty kick score tied the match up less than three minutes of game time later in the 19th minute.
- West Florida would retake the lead in the 19th minute and take a 2-1 lead into the break.
- The Warhawks saw one of their better second-half scoring opportunities come in the 62nd minute, when Arriaga fired off a shot from outside the box that sailed just high of the goal.
- The Argos would tack on another goal in the 78th minute, to give way to the final score of 3-1

- The Warhawks took eight shots on the evening, with four of those shots being on goal.
- Six of AUM's shots came in period number one.
