HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Warhawks opened the first few minutes of the first quarter on a cold spell. However, an
Alexia Wallace jump shot got things going for the Orange & Black and cut the lead to 6-2 in the opening moments of the game. AUM would go on an 8-0 run to take a 20-13 lead over the Warriors and closed off the first quarter on fire from the field and finished the opening frame leading 20-15 thanks to back-to-back 3-pointers from Carter.
- Carter scored the second quarter's first three points of the frame on yet another 3-point shot which marked her ninth-straight point for the Warhawks. Carter's efforts offensively helped the Warhawks extend their lead to 10 early in the second. The Orange & Black's streak of seven-straight points was put to an end when the Warriors earned two shots from the charity stripe to run the game to 27-17. The middle part of the second quarter featured a defensive battle as neither squad was able to see much offensive consistency. This would change thanks to the efforts from Wallace as she would net back-to-back 3-pointers to give AUM a 41-20 lead late in the second quarter and closed out the first half winning 43-27.
- Southern Wesleyan had the better success to start the second half as the only early action from AUM came from a Brewster three. The Warriors out-scored the Orange & Black 12-6 in the early stages to cut the lead to 52-36. Brewster would get hot in the latter portion of the third quarter as she hit two 3-pointers to give AUM a 20-point lead heading into the final frame.
- The Warriors were able to hold the Warhawk offense at bay while still cutting into the AUM lead. AUM had recorded just four points through the first two and a half minutes before Carter hit a 3-point shot to regain a 72-52 lead. The Warhawks continued their offensive success well into the fourth quarter and eventually took down Southern Wesleyan 81-54.

QUOTING THE COACH
"Another good team win, we started the game a bit sluggish but around the five-minute mark the bench started to get involved and the crowd started to get into it. I really appreciate how everybody got involved in the game and everyone was able to contribute."
