OWENSBORO, KY. --- The Auburn Montgomery men's basketball team scored a season-high 99 points, while shooting a season-best 61 percent from the floor and seeing six different players score in double figures in a 99-85 victory over the Tiffin University Dragons in their first game of the Kentucky Wesleyan Thanksgiving Classic on Friday, Nov 29.
NOTEWORTHY
- With the win, AUM improves to 5-4 overall.
- Friday's contest against Tiffin marked for the first ever meeting between the schools, with AUM now holding a 1-0 all-time advantage.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS

Carlos Bell logged his first double-double of the 2019-20 season, with a 20-point, 11-rebound performance. Bell also recorded four assists and two steals on a 7-11 shooting night.

Darrion Taylor led all scorers with a game-high 21 points, to go along with a game-high five assists. Taylor knocked down nine of 11 shots, including two of three from beyond the arc.

Stanley Davis scored 14 for the Orange and Black, while also pulling down six rebounds, distributing four assists and grabbing a game-high three steals.

Maharrith Jackson and
Joshua Moore both tallied 12 points, with Jackson hauling in seven rebounds and Moore with four.

Jeremiah Bozeman notched double-digit points for the second time in his AUM career, with an 11-point performance. Bozeman also went for five rebounds and three assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both teams scored eight points over the first five minutes, followed by a 10-0 run by the Warhawks over the next three minutes to lead 18-8 at the 12:57 mark in the first.
- The Warhawks would immediately follow up with another big scoring run, this time outscoring the Dragons 20-8 over the next five minutes, to lead 38-19 with 7:34 to play in the first.
- Tiffin would score the next eight points unanswered, however, to trim AUM's lead to 38-27 at the 5:45 mark. AUM would score 12 more points, while Tiffin would score 11, to see the score read 50-38 at halftime.
- With the score reading 62-48 at the 15:58 mark in the second, the Warhawks would rattle off a 12-2 run over the next five minutes, highlighted by 10 unanswered points during a four-minute stretch to see their largest lead of the game at 74-50.
- AUM would flirt with a 20-point lead for the remainder of the game, until a 9-2 run by the Dragons over the final two minutes would take a tiny bite into the Warhawk's lead before giving way to the 99-85 final score.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
- The Warhawks shot the ball at an elite level all game, sinking 61 percent (22-36) of their shots from the field in half number one, and 62 percent (18-29) in the second.
- AUM amassed a season-high 52 points in the paint, while winning the rebounding battle 39-27 and scoring 11 second-chance points.
- The Warhawks shot 43 percent (7-16) on three-pointers, while holding the Dragons to just 30 percent from downtown (7-23).
- AUM totaled 20 points both off of the bench and off Tiffin turnovers, in addition to getting 15 fast break points.

- The Warhawks face a quick turnaround, as they head back to the hardwood on Saturday, Nov. 30 for a 2:30 p.m. tipoff with host school Kentucky Wesleyan on the final day of the Kentucky Wesleyan Thanksgiving Classic.
