MONTEVALLO, Ala. – With three players in double figures, the Auburn University at Montgomery women's basketball team recorded their first official NCAA DII win over Tuskegee 65-57 on Friday night in Montevallo.

- The Warhawks open the season at 1-0.
- Tuskegee, after winning 20 games last year, drops their opener.
- Three Warhawks made their debut in the win.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS

Jordan Brewster led the Warhawks in points in the contest, registering seven 3-pointers.

Victoria Morales paced the Warwhawks on the boards, netting 12 rebounds. Morales also earned 17 points, four assists, and three steals.

Kendra Boone recorded two blocks against the Golden Tigers.

Roni Richardson tallied 12 points and two assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Warhawks started the first quarter on an offensive shooting spree, taking an early 10-5 lead thanks to a jumper and a 3-pointer from Richardson. AUM's 10-5 lead would get trimmed down to one late in the first quarter when Eleana Daniels hit a jumper with 39 seconds on the clock. The Golden Tigers closed out the first quarter trailing 13-12.
- Tuskegee opened the second quarter with a pair of quick 3-pointers from Daniels. However, the Warhawks responded with a pair of threes from Brewster to cut AUM's deficit to 23-22. Tuskegee continued their great offensive quarter with a 3-pointer from Normesha Pitts and a jumper from Daniels to take a 27-23 lead late in the first half. The Orange & Black trimmed the lead to one thanks to another Brewster three, but the Golden Tigers took a four-point lead going into the half.
- The third quarter started with a bang for the Orange & Black as AUM went on a 10-5 run to cut the Golden Tiger lead to one.
Jemaiya Lee paced the Warhawks during this run, tallying four points. TU answered with six straight points before AUM closed out the third frame on an 11-4 run to take a two-point lead.
- AUM continued their hot streak into the fourth quarter with a 7-0 run that was capped by a Brewster 3-pointer. With the Warhawks sporting a 10-point lead, Morales nailed a layup in the paint to push the lead to 12 for the Orange & Black. The Golden Tigers would take six of the next eight points to trim the stronghold to 64-57. However, with clutch free-throw shooting from
Alexia Wallace and Lee, the Warhawks pulled away with a 68-57 win, outscoring Tuskegee 42-27 in the second half.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
- The Warhawks shot 39.7 % from the field and went 9-27 from three-point range.
- AUM netted 15 helpers in the contest.
- The Orange & Black struggled from the free-throw line, going 13-22.
- The Warhawks out-rebounded the Golden Tigers 46-39.

AUM will play their final game of the GSC/SIAC Crossover Challenge tomorrow when they take on the Clark Atlanta Lady Panthers. The game from Montevallo is scheduled to begin at noon.
