MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn University at Montgomery women's basketball team suffered an 81-50 home Gulf South Conference loss to #25 Union on Monday night in their first action in nine days.
NOTES
- The Warhawks drop to 6-4 in 2019, with an 0-3 conference record.
- Union rises to 10-2 on the season, with a perfect 4-0 GSC record.

Victoria Morales paced the Warhawks in scoring with 13 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- AUM was able to net the first five points of the contest thanks to a Morales layup and a
Jordan Brewster 3-pointer which got the Warhawks up and running early on in the first. The Lady Bulldogs responded with eight-straight points to take their first lead of the night at 8-5 halfway through the first period. Morales and Brewster would team up again late in the first quarter to regain a 11-10 lead over Union, but the Lady Bulldogs would pull away late in the opening stage to take a 20-11 lead going into the second quarter.

Catlin Carter became just the third Warhawk to register a point with two free throws to open the scoring in the second. Union took 10 of the next 15 points of the second quarter thanks to some pin-point shooting to take a 30-18 stronghold over the Orange & Black with just over six minutes remaining.
Jemaiya Lee answered with four of her own points later on in the second quarter to trim the Lady Bulldog lead to 35-22, but the Warhawks still trailed 41-27 going into the halftime break.
- Union stayed hot to start the third frame, taking eight of the first 10 points of the third period to extend their lead to 48-29. Two free throws from Boone stopped the bleeding for the moment for AUM, but the Lady Bulldogs were able to knock down two from the charity stripe as well to maintain their lead. The nationally ranked foe took 13 straight points to close out the third quarter and took a 61-35 lead going into the fourth quarter.
- The run was finally put on hold thanks to a
Makaylla Bullard jumper to get the Warhawks on the board for the first time in over five minutes. Carter would later net five-straight points for the Warhawks thanks to two free throws and a 3-pointer to run the score to 70-44. In the late stages of the fourth,
Alex Brown and
Monika Johnson would register points to close out the game. However, Union would come away with a road conference victory with an 81-50 win over the Warhawks.

Women's basketball will return to the AUM Gymnasium on Saturday, Dec. 21 when they host GSC foe West Georgia. The game is set to begin at 2 p.m. and will also feature the men's basketball programs.
