Keith Leads AUM To Victory On Senior Day

MONGOMERY, Ala. – Senior guard Kenneth Keith scored a team-high 16 points while dishing out a season high five assists in Auburn University at Montgomery's 79-63 victory over Gulf South Conference foe Shorter University on Saturday afternoon, with Keith playing in his final home game wearing the Orange & Black.
 
NOTES
• AUM improves to 8-19 on the season with a 4-15 mark in the GSC.
• Shorter falls to 2-25 overall and 0-19 in league play.
• The win snapped a four-game losing skid for the Warhawks.
 
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Keith tallied 16 points on 6-of-13 shooting including four 3-pointers. He also picked up two steals in the game.
• Junior forward Aaron Reddick earned his fourth double-double of the season, scoring 15 and pulling down 11 rebounds. He also tallied three blocks in the contest.
• Junior guard Carlos Bell scored 13 with three rebounds, two assists and a block.
• Sophomore guard Stanley Davis came off the bench to score 11 and grab a pair of boards.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Keith started the game with a trey put the home squad up 3-0 in the early goings. The two teams traded points back and fourth over the next six minutes, battling to an 11-11 tie with 13:52 left in the first. The Warhawks would outscore Shorter 12-3 over the next three minutes to take a 23-14 lead with 9:55 to go until the break on a trey by Bell.
• AUM would push its lead to 39-22 with 4:26 left in the first on a Davis 3-pointer, before the Hawks closed out the half on an 11-2 run to go into the half down 41-33 to the home team.
• The first seven minutes of the second half saw AUM go up 61-41 when Keith hit a jumper to put his team up by 20 with 12:46 left on the clock. Shorter would respond with an 11-2 run over the next five minutes to pull to within 63-52 with 7:55 to play.
• The two teams would trade points the rest of the way, with the Warhawks eventually pulling away in the end to earn the 79-63 victory as Keith drained a 3-pointer for AUM's last points of the day with :11 seconds to go.
