MONTGOMERY, Ala. --- The Auburn Montgomery women's basketball team capped off their 2018-19 home slate with a 70-50 Gulf-South-Conference victory over Shorter University on Saturday, Feb. 23 from the AUM Gymnasium.
NOTES
- With the win, AUM improves to 5-22 overall, and 4-15 in GSC play.
- The Warhawks sent senior forward
Evelina Avleeva out in style with the win. Avleeva was honored post game as part of Senior Day Festivities.
- Freshman guard
Jordan Brewster eclipsed the century mark for three-pointers in a season in the game, marking for just the third player in AUM women's basketball history to make over 100 threes' in a season.
- AUM pulled down 50 rebounds for just the third time this season.
- Four Warhawks scored in double figures, while three AUM players recorded double-digit rebounds.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS

Makaylla Bullard tallied a career-high 23 points in the game, knocking down a season-high five three-pointers. Bullard also dished out three assists and pulled down two rebounds.
- Brewster accounted for 18 points on a 6-13 shooting night from the three-point line. Brewster now sits at 104 three's for the season, just four away from the all-time single season record.
- Avleeva notched her third double-double of the season, finishing with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Avleeva also added two assists and two steals.

Victoria Morales hauled in a team-high 11 rebounds, while blocking four shots and scoring five points.

Aaliyah Milord also grabbed a team-high 11 boards, to go along with four assists and two points.

Jessika Milton also scored in double figures for AUM, finishing with 11 points and five rebounds.

Kendra Boone registered six rebounds, two blocks and one point off of the AUM bench.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Shorter opened up the ballgame on a 10-3 run over the first five minutes of play, but AUM would respond with a 10-0 run over the final five minutes of the period to lead 13-10 after one quarter of play. The Warhawks took the lead with 1:36 left in the first on a three-ball by Bullard.
- The Orange and Black saw their most productive quarter of the game come in the second, outscoring Shorter 24-17 in the period.
- Leading 15-12 with 8:59 left in the second, the Warhawks would rattle off a 15-6 run over the next four minutes of action to jump out to a 30-18 lead at the 5:05 mark.
- Brewster's 100
th three of the season came at the 6:33 mark in the second, which put AUM up 26-18 at the time.
- AUM went up 12 points at 32-20 on a layup by Milton at the 4:25 mark, and would take a 37-27 lead into the break after a back-and-forth final few minutes of the second.
- The Warhawks notched the first five points of the second half, to jump out to a 42-27 lead over the Hawks with 7:07 left in the third.
- AUM would go up by 18 at 51-33 at the 1:53 mark in the third on a layup by Milton, while Milton would also knock down the final bucket of the third on a three to give AUM a 54-37 lead heading into the fourth.
- The Warhawks outscored the Hawks 16-13 in the final period, leading by as many as 21 three different times in the period.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
- AUM shot 39.3 percent (24-61) from the floor on the night, while holding Shorter to just 31 percent (19-61) from the floor.
- AUM shot 39.4 percent (13-33) from the three-point line in the game.
- The Warhawks won the rebounding battle, 50-31, while collecting a season-high 16 offensive boards.
- AUM posted a season-best 81.8 (9-11) percent from the charity stripe in the contest.
- The Warhawks tallied 18 points in the paint, 15 points off of Shorter turnovers, and got 12 points of contribution from their bench.
