Warhawks Net Conference Victory With Shutout Of West Georgia

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Auburn University at Montgomery women's tennis team registered their first Gulf South Conference victory of 2019 on Wednesday afternoon at the AUM Tennis Complex, defeating the West Georgia Wolves 7-0.  

MATCH NOTES
-    AUM improves to 3-2 on the year and improves to 1-1 in conference play.
-    West Georgia falls to 2-3 on the season, and now has a 1-1 mark in GSC action. 

QUOTING THE COACH
"Today was a good day as a team," said head coach Yair Banuelos. "We played good tennis and we were able to get the win with a dominant performance.  First win in conference of the year. I can definitely see a lot of improvement from everyone.  We have a couple of tough non-conference matches coming up that we are looking forward and we hope to perform better in every match."

With the postponement of the Warhawks next match against the Shorter Hawks, women's tennis next game will be on Monday, March 4 when they travel to Pensacola, Fla to take on Nova Southeastern. The match is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
