Jordan Brewster, the Auburn Montgomery women's basketball team dropped a 58-44 Gulf South Conference decision at Delta State on Saturday.

NOTES
• The Warhawks fell to 3-20 on the season and 2-13 in Gulf South Conference play.
• Delta State improved to 15-8 overall and 10-6 in league play.
• The Lady Statesmen improved to 4-2 all-time against AUM.

STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Brewster finished 7-of-19 from the field, including five makes from behind the arc, en route to the 20 points. She now has 90 3-pointers on the season, a mark which ranks sixth on the season list for the Warhawks. One of just AUM four players (Kaylan Withrow and Leigh Swanson twice and Samantha Tomlinson once) to hit 90 or more treys in a season, Brewster is now 18 away from tying the single-season record with five games remaining.

Victoria Morales tallied six points and a team-best seven rebounds in the contest.

Aaliyah Milord chipped in three points, six rebounds and a pair of blocked shots.

Alex Brown added four points in five minutes off the bench.
• Nia Johnson led Delta State with 18 points, while Zyaire Ewing added 13.
• Frederica Haywood posted nine points and a game-high 11 rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Leading 4-2, Ewing scored six straight for the Lady Statesmen late in the first quarter to extend the lead to 10-2. Late baskets by Brewster and Morales pulled the Warhawks to within 12-7 after one quarter.
• Following treys by Brewster and
Makaylla Bullard early in the second quarter, AUM cut the margin to 14-13 with 8:14 remaining before the half. The Warhawks capped a 13-3 run to open the quarter on a layup by
Evelina Avleeva with 4:07 left and took a 20-15 lead. However, DSU closed the quarter with seven straight points and led 22-20 at halftime.
• Delta State upped its advantage to eight points, 32-24, with 6:07 left in the third quarter, but Brewster hit two consecutive 3-pointers and pulled AUM to within two points, 32-30. The Lady Statesmen closed the quarter with a 9-3 spurt over the final 4:44 and led 41-33 after three quarters.
• The Lady Statesmen opened the fourth quarter with nine straight points, before a Brewster trey stopped the run with 5:46 remaining in the game. The two sides each scored eight points down the stretch to provide the final margin.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
• The Warhawks struggled from the floor, hitting just 16-of-55 (29.1 percent) shots.
• DSU converted 43.4 percent of its shots from the field, making 23-of-53 attempts.
• Delta State tallied 32 points in the paint, compared to 10 for Auburn Montgomery.
• The two teams combined for 29 turnovers, with the Lady Statesmen holding a 17-14 advantage in points off turnovers.
QUOTING THE COACH
"I thought we played pretty well for about 30 minutes in the game, but let Delta State's pressure get to us late," head coach
Sean Page said. "Give Delta State its due, but we need to learn how to deal with that if we want to continue to improve and keep moving forward."
