JACKSON, Tenn. – The Auburn University at Montgomery swept Gulf South Conference foe Union University on Sunday afternoon in a doubleheader, taking game one 13-1 in five innings before holding on for a 4-2 win in game two to push its winning streak to nine games in a row while also winning the first two games of a three-game series with the Bulldogs.
NOTES
• AUM improved to 22-4 on the season with a 7-4 mark in league games.
• The Bulldogs fall to 12-11 overall and 3-5 in the GSC.
• The Warhawks are also 6-1 in road games while Union drops to 2-2 at home.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Junior outfielder
Parker Pinholster went 4-for-6 at the plate with four runs batted in and two runs scored, tallying a triple and a home run.
• Sophomore utility player
Morgan Duschell was 3-for-6 with five RBI and one run scored.
• Sophomore
Michaelyn Foster picked up a win and a save over the two games.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME ONE
• AUM loaded the bases in the first inning with two outs for
Abby Krueger who would be hit by a pitch to plate a runner.
Morgan Duschell would then come to the plate with the bases still loaded and slapped a double to center field to drive in three runs and give the visitors a 4-0 advantage.
• With a runner on first
Parker Pinholster would then hit her fourth homer of the season to put her squad up 6-0 after two innings.
• An infield single by the speedy
Olivia Aycock with runners at second and third plated one run in the top of the third to add another run to the Warhawks' total.
• The Bulldogs would get on the board in the bottom of the third, cutting the deficit to 7-1 on a single with two on and two out to get on the board.
• After being held scoreless in the fourth, the Orange & Black exploded for six runs in the fifth, beginning with
Jaycie Walker's eighth dinger of the season, a two-run shot to center to put AUM up 9-1. With the bases loaded three batters later Pinholster hit a single up the middle to drive in two more runs. After the bases were loaded once again for Duschell the sophomore slapper delivered a single to center to record two more RBI and put the visitors up 13-1.
• Union was unable to record any runs in the bottom of the fifth, giving the Warhawks the five-inning victory.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE – GAME ONE
• The Warhawks scored 13 runs on 14 hits with one error.
• Union scored one run on four hits with no errors.

Michaelyn Foster recorded the game one victory to improve to 9-1 on the season. Foster allowed one run (unearned) on four hits with a walk and a strikeout.
• Parker Davis was credited with the loss for the Bulldogs to fall to 3-6 on the season. Davis allowed nine runs on 11 hits with two walks and two strikeouts.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME TWO
• AUM drew first blood in game two, scoring on an infield error by the Bulldogs with runners at first and second to go up 1-0. Pinholster would then record two more RBI on the day by hitting a single to left to plate a pair and give the visitors a 3-0 advantage.
• Union got on the board in the bottom of the fourth, hitting back-to-back solo home runs to cut the deficit to 3-2 after four complete.
• AUM plated a run in the top of the fifth when
Caroline Burns laid down a sac bunt with runners at second and third to score Aycock and give the Warhawks a 4-2 advantage.
• Neither team would score the rest of the way, giving the visitors a two-run victory.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE – GAME TWO
• The Warhawks score four runs on five hits with no errors.
• The Bulldogs scored two runs on four hits with one error.

Chanel Newcomer improved to 5-2 on the season, allowing two runs on three hits with one walk and six strikeouts over 4.2 innings.
• Foster picked up a save for AUM, tossing 2.1 shutout innings to record her second save of the year.
• Gabby Morris took the loss for Union, allowing four runs (one earned) on five hits with six walks and three K's.
