Baseball Edged at Embry-Riddle to Close out Spring Break Road Trip, 5-3

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. --- The Auburn Montgomery baseball team closed out their four-game road trip in Eastern Florida with a 5-3 setback to the Eagles of Embry-Riddle on Saturday, March 16.

- Aaron Hill picked up a hit and a run on the day, while Grayson Blackwell added a hit and a walk.
- Troy Jones (2-3) took the loss on the mound. Jones allowed three earned runs over 5.1 innings, while striking out six.
- Ross Carpenter struck out one over 1.1 innings of scoreless relief out of the AUM bullpen.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles would scratch the game's first run in their first at bat, courtesy of an RBI groundout to short, to give them a 1-0 lead after one.
- AUM would even the game at 1-1 in the fourth, on an RBI single through the left side by Friesen to plate Cobb, who reached base on an infield single to leadoff the frame.
- After seeing Embry-Riddle retake the lead 3-1 with a pair of runs in the fifth, the Warhawks would respond in their next at bat by plating a run and cutting their deficit in half. Brandt would supply the pop for AUM in the inning, scoring Friesen on a two-out double down the left field line.
- After seeing Embry-Riddle put up two runs in the bottom of the seventh, the Warhawks would add a run in the top of the eighth on an RBI knock to right from Hill. The potential fourth run of the game for AUM would be cut down at home on Hill's hit, however, to end the inning and keep the score at 5-3.
