HOW IT HAPPENED
- Georgia Southwestern jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first on a pair of RBI ground outs, but AUM would respond in their first at-bat of the game to cut the Hurricane's lead to just 2-1. A leadoff walk by Arrington, followed by an Arrington steal of second and a sacrifice bunt by Smelley, set the stage for an RBI groundout by Zielonko to cut the Warhawk's deficit in half through one.
- The Warhawks would get their most productive inning on offense in the fourth, pushing across three runs on three hits to grab the lead at 4-2. Cobb plated the first run of the inning on an RBI single up the middle, while Blackwell would deliver the big blow in the frame with a two-run double to left to bring home Cobb and Friesen.
- After surrendering a run to the Hurricanes in the top of the fifth to bring the score to 3-2, the Warhawks would get that run back in the fifth, courtesy of an RBI-knock from Zielonko through the left side to bring home C. Henderson.
- AUM would scratch two more runs over the next two frames, with Cobb launching his first career AUM homer to left in the sixth, and Arrington scoring on a wild pitch in the seventh.
- The AUM bullpen would keep the Hurricanes relatively quite over the eighth and ninth innings, to give way to the 7-3 final.
