QUOTING THE COACH
"This loss will teach us many lessons," said Siqueira. "It was a match of good and bad moments. We need to learn how to have more good than band moments in order to win. We need to focus on one match at at time and give our best to finish this tournament on a positive note."

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first set saw the two teams battle to a 3-3 tie before the Miners went on a 7-0 run to go up 10-3. A kill by Pais-Marden broke the rally for the home team, but the Warhawks found themselves in an early hole. After trading serve back and forth the Orange & Black went on a 6-1 run to pull to within 12-10. S&T responded with a 9-3 run of their own to take a 23-13 advantage, eventually winning 25-15.
- Once again the two teams traded points back and forth in the early goings of the second set with the two squads racing out to an 8-8 tie. The Miners then scored five in a row before a kill by Sommer Rhea forced the side out. S&T eventually pushed its lead to 19-12 before AUM could muster a 6-2 run to pull to within 21-18. However, the Miners would outscore the Warhawks 4-1 over the final five points to take the second set 25-19.
- S&T would take the early advantage in the third set, going up 7-4 before a kill by Pais-Marden cut the lead to 7-5. The Warhawks were unable to capitalize on the break point, eventually going down 14-8. AUM went on an 8-5 run to cut the deficit to 19-16, but S&T would reel off four consecutive points to put the contest out of reach. The home team would get the final two points they would need to take the set 25-19 and the match 3-0.
