Warhawks Win Comeback Thriller Over West Florida, 72-66

MONTGOMERY, Ala. --- The Auburn Montgomery men's basketball team rode the momentum of a 24-1 scoring run in the second half to erase an 18-point deficit and knock off the West Florida Argonauts in GSC action on Thursday, Jan. 30 from the AUM Gymnasium.

- West Florida came out en Fuego in half number two, outscoring AUM 21-4 over the half's first six and a half minutes to grab their largest lead of the night at 53-35 with 13:36 to go.
- The Warhawks slowly but surely chipped away at their deficit, however, scoring the next 10 points unanswered to cut UWF's lead to just 53-45 with 9:39 to play.
- The Warhawks would tie up the game just three minutes later on a pair of free-throws from Davis and would go up 59-54 on a three by Bell at the 4:23 mark to cap off a gargantuan 24-1 scoring run over nine minutes of game time.
- UWF did not back down, however, cutting their deficit to just two at 62-60 with 3:19 to go after knocking down a three-pointer.
- Leading by just four, Davis would down his biggest three-pointer of the night with 58 seconds left to give AUM a seven-point lead at 67-60 and keep UWF multiple possessions away from the Warhawks in the scoring column.
- The Argos got back to within four points at 67-63 one possession later courtesy of a three, but AUM would put the game on ice over their next few possessions by knocking down five of six free throws to give way to the 72-66 final.
