MONTEVALLO, Ala. --- The Auburn Montgomery men's basketball team overcame an 18-point deficit, but ultimately fell 72-75 in overtime to the Falcons of the University of Montevallo in Gulf South Conference play on Saturday, Jan. 4 from the Trustmark Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Montevallo opened up the game on a 7-0 run over the first two minutes of action, and would push their early advantage to 16-5 at the 15:30 mark; a period in which the Falcons shot 7-7 from the floor.
- The Falcons would continue their strong offensive showing, taking a 22-8 lead over AUM at the game's second media timeout at the 12:18 mark.
- The Warhawks would battle back over the next eight and a half minutes though, and chip away at the Falcons lead with a 15-7 run to trail just 29-23 at the 3:59 mark in the half.
- Montevallo would respond to AUM's rebuttal with an 11-2 run to close out half number one and take a 41-25 lead into the break.
- The Falcons held a double-digit lead over AUM for the early part of half number two. The Warhawks once again chipped away at the Falcons lead, though, with a 14-2 run from the 12:38 mark to the 7:45 mark to trail just 49-51.
- AUM would go on to take their first lead of the game with 5:19 left, after a three-point play by Carlos Bell to put them up 56-55.
- Both teams would trade leads for the remaining time left, with the Falcons getting the last possession of the game with the score tied at 63-all. Reddick would swat away Montevallo's attempt at a game-winning bucket, however, to keep the score tied and force overtime.
- The Falcons scored the first seven points of overtime to take a three-possession lead at 70-63 with 2:28 remaining.
- AUM would cut Montevallo's lead to just four at 70-66 with 1:36 left courtesy of a Bell lay-up, but the Falcons would go back up by seven with 37 seconds left to provide enough cushion to hang on for the victory.
