MONTGOMERY, Ala. – With 3-point contributions from a variety of players, the Auburn University at Montgomery women's basketball team defeated the LeMoyne-Owen Lady Magicians 59-55 at home on Tuesday night in dramatic fashion.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Defense prevailed in the first two minutes of the game as the contest remained scoreless for the first two minutes of action. The Lady Magicians broke the scoreless tie with a layup at the 7:30 mark which gave LeMoyne-Owen the early lead. The Lady Magicians would start the game on a 9-0 run which forced an early timeout from the Orange & Black. AUM missed its first six shots of the game before
Roni Richardson hit a floater with two minutes to go in the quarter to cut the lead to 9-2. The offense continued on the next Warhawk possession when Brewster knocked down her first 3-pointer of the night. A late free throw from
Catlin Carter send LeMoyne-Owen into the second quarter with a 9-6 lead.
- Five points from Richardson propelled the game to an 11-11 score to open the second quarter.
Jemaiya Lee would hit a mid-range jumper to give AUM its first lead of the night. The AUM run would be extended to 10-0 thanks to another 3-pointer from Brewster, however the run would be cut short on the next LeMoyne-Owen possession to cut the Warhawk lead to 16-14. Just before the media timeout, Brewster hit her third 3-pointer to give the Orange & Black a 19-18 lead. The Lady Magicians made the Warhawk lead disappear with three minutes remaining in the first half on a jumper from the free-throw line to take a 20-19 lead. Victoria Morales hit a mid-range jumper to tie the game at 21. Late free throws gave LeMoyne-Owen a 27-23 lead going into halftime.
- Morales converted from the top of the key on a 3-pointer to open the scoring in the second half, bringing the Warhawk deficit to one. However, LeMoyne-Owen would respond with a layup to regain a three-point lead. Richardson continued her hot shooting with a 3-pointer to tie the game at 29 with seven minutes remaining in the third. Morales came out of the media timeout and hit two free throws to cut the Lady Magician lead to 34-33 and resulted in another one-point contest. With AUM down by five, Milord hit just her fourth 3-pointer of the season that cut the deficit to three. However, LeMoyne-Owen would respond with a 3-pointer of their own to regain the five-point margin. After an AUM timeout, Milord did her best quarterback impression and found Morales all alone on the other side of the floor who converted a three-point play to run the score to 45-42 heading into the fourth.
- Teams traded baskets to open the fourth quarter, but it was Brewster who snapped the back and forth streak, hitting a deep two to force another one-point deficit. LeMoyne-Owen distanced themselves again after a three-point play, but Brewster responded with another 3-pointer to tie the game at 49. With 3:24 remaining in the fourth quarter, Morales went 1-2 from the charity stripe to give AUM its first lead since late in the second quarter at 50-49. LeMoyne-Owen answered with a three-point play on the next possession to regain a two-point lead. Milord answered with more 3-point magic as she knocked down her second triple of the night to give the Orange & Black a one-point lead. Milord converted on more late magic, hitting another 3-pointer to give AUM a four-point lead with under a minute left to go in the fourth. The Lady Magicians trailed by five with 23 seconds remaining, but went to the line to convert a three-point play to narrow the lead to 57-55. Two free throws down the stretch from Brewster clinched AUM's second-straight win, defeating LeMoyne-Owen 59-55.
