HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Warhawks were only able to gain five points in the first quarter against the national powerhouse. However, the Orange & Black were able to score the game's first three points on a
Jordan Brewster 3-pointer. At the 4:42 mark of the first quarter the game sat a 3-3 score as both defenses were stellar early on. Lee, however, captured a 17-5 lead going into the second quarter, finding their scoring touch late in the first.
- The second quarter was dominated by the Orange & Black to start. Brewster was able to nail the team's first points of the second with a 3-pointer to cut into the Lady Flames lead. AUM used the scoring of Carter to eventually cut the lead down to six midway through the first half, but Lee responded with a scoring outburst to take a 10-point lead with two minutes remaining. Two free throws from Brewster knocked the lead down momentarily, but Lee took an eight-point lead into halftime.
-
Jemaiya Lee and Brewster teamed up to begin the second half to try to get the Warhawks back into the game. However, Lee was able to answer with shots of their own to keep their eight-point lead into the first media timeout of the third. A 12-4 run distanced Lee from the Orange & Black to close out the third quarter as the Lady Flames took a 49-33 lead into the final frame.
-
Roni Richardson secured the fourth quarter's first three points with a triple to run the game to 49-36. However, her shot was answered by a Lady Flames three to put AUM back at square one. Lee continued to hit shots down the stretch in the fourth quarter and were able to continue their dominance in the GSC with a win over the Orange & Black.

QUOTING THE COACH
"I am extremely proud of our team today. I think we gave a great effort and playing without our leading scorer and rebounder we gave the No. 4 team in America all they could handle."
