Darrion Taylor found the bottom of the net from 25 feet out as time expired to give the Auburn Montgomery men's basketball team a 66-64 Gulf South Conference win over Christian Brothers University on Thursday, Feb. 20 from the AUM Gymnasium

NOTEWORTHY
- With the win, AUM has now won their last four contests and improves to 14-11 overall and 9-8 in GSC play.
- The Warhawks have now won two GSC games with last-second field goals this season, with
Jeremiah Bozeman's last-second layup in AUM's 73-71 win over Lee on Nov. 23 marking for the first occurrence.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS

Carlos Bell finished just two rebounds shy of a double-double, with a 20-point and eight-rebound effort. Bell went 10-11 from the free-throw line on the night.
- Taylor finished with 15 points while dishing out three assists and grabbing three steals.

Stanley Davis added 13 points off the bench, while Bozeman accounted for nine points and a pair of assists.

Aaron Reddick logged a team-high 10 rebounds, in addition to blocking a career-high seven shots.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Warhawks came out of the gate sluggish, falling behind 10-4 to the Buccaneers with 13:56 to go in the first half.
- The Bucs went on to lead by at many as seven in the half, but after going up 18-13 over the Warhawks with 8:34 to go in the first AUM would crank things up a notch on offense and outscore CBU 17-2 over the final eight and half minutes to lead 30-20 at the break.
- CBU scored the first four points of the second half to make it a 30-24 game with 18:45 left, but AUM would get back out to a double-digit lead by scoring the next five unanswered to go up 35-24 at the 16:15 mark.
- The Warhawks took their largest lead of the game at the 13:19 mark after a Bell layup put AUM on top 41-28 with 13:19 to go.
- The Bucs battled back over the next few minutes, however, with nine unanswered points to trim AUM's lead to just 41-37 with 9:52 left.
- The Warhawk's lead over CBU swayed back-and-forth between two possessions and three possessions for the next several minutes, with the Warhawks holding a 60-54 lead over the Bucs with 1:46 left.
- AUM extended their lead to six with 37 seconds left after a pair of free throws from Bozeman to go up 62-56, but the Bucs would go back down and sink a pair of free throws to make it a 62-58 game with 23 seconds to go.
- After going up 63-58 on a 1-2 free throw trip from Davis with 18 seconds left, calamity ensued. The Buccaneers knocked down a three-point shot with nine seconds left on the ensuing possession to make it just a 63-61 lead for AUM and would knock down another three just five seconds later after stealing the Warhawk inbound pass to go up 64-63 with four seconds left.
- This sequence of unfortunate events helped set the stage for D.Taylor's game-winner, however, as his deep three-point shot fell through the net as time expired to clinch the 66-64 win.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
- For just the third time this season, the Warhawks recorded less than 20 field goals from the floor, going 18-52 (34%). The other two instances resulted in losses for AUM.
- The Orange and Black relied heavily on the free throw on the night, going 19-23 from the line in half number two to finish at 83.9 percent (26-31) for the game from the charity stripe.
- CBU won the rebounding battle, 48-35.
- AUM tallied 26 points in the paint, 17 points off of the bench, 17 points off of turnovers and 16 fast-break points.

- The Warhawks will host Delta State on Saturday, Feb. 22 from the AUM Gymnasium, with a 4:00 p.m. tip-off time.
