MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn University at Montgomery women's basketball team dropped a home Gulf South Conference game to the Delta State Lady Statesmen 72-56 on Saturday afternoon.
NOTES
- AUM falls to 12-14 with a 5-13 GSC mark.
- Delta State continues their playoff push with a 12-6 conference record and a 20-6 record overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- AUM was slow shooting out the gate against the Lady Statesmen as Delta State garnered the first 12 points of the contest. The Warhawks broke through scoring for the first time on an
Alexia Wallace 3-pointer to cut the DSU lead to 12-3. Delta State would continue scoring in the first, but the efforts of Morales kept the Warhawks around at 19-8 late in the first.
- Despite trailing 12-0 in the first, the Warhawks were able to close the gap to start the second quarter on a layup from Carter to run the score to 21-15. More than two minutes would go by without a score midway through the second, but a
Jordan Brewster 3-pointer cut the Lady Statesmen lead to five. A pair of
Jemaiya Lee free throws brought the Warhawks to within one point with 2:28 to go, but Delta State closed out the half strong and led 37-30 at halftime.
- A 6-0 run awaited the Orange & Black out of the halftime break, extending the Delta State lead to 43-30. Morales ended the Lady Statesmen's run with a 3-pointer, but a mirid of free throws kept the Warhawks from getting close. Four-consecutive points to close out the third quarter gave Delta State a 54-42 lead going into the final frame.
- The Lady Statesmen took 11 of 13 to start the fourth quarter to push their stronghold over AUM to 65-44. Brewster nailed her 197
th career 3-pointer to stop the bleeding, however the Delta State offense could not be stopped, allowing the Lady Statesmen to win their 20
th game of the season.

- AUM went 15-16 from the charity stripe.
- AUM got out-rebounded 50-33.

The Warhawks will play their final road game of the 2019-20 season on Thursday, Feb 27 when they travel to Carrollton, Ga., to take on the West Georgia Wolves. The game is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.
