MONTEVALLO, Ala. --- The Auburn Montgomery baseball team gave up four home runs, including a pair of grand slams, that proved to be pivotal in their 13-8 loss to the University of Montevallo in game one of their three-game Gulf South Conference series on Friday, Feb. 28.
With the loss, AUM's record falls to 4-10 overall and 3-4 in GSC action.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS

Dalton Cobb and
Matthew Zielonko both drove in three runs in the game, with Cobb slugging his team-best fourth home run of the season and Zielonko launching his second.

Logan Nix knocked a pair of hits while scoring two runs.

Quinterrious Arrington,
Grayson Blackwell and
Zach Feaster all also logged a pair of hits in the game.

Bailey Mosley and
Ko Powell both added a run and a hit.

Tommy Vickers tossed a scoreless bottom of the eighth inning.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Warhawks came out firing on all cylinders in the first, hanging up a five-spot in the inning. Cobb got AUM on the board first with a two-run homer, followed by a three-run shot by Zielonko a few batters later that clanked off of the batter's eye in center field to make it a 5-0 lead through one.
- Montevallo would respond with a five-spot of their own in the bottom of the first, using an RBI single and a grand slam to account for the damage.
- The Warhawks retook the lead their next time up in the top of the second, courtesy of a Cobb sac fly to center that plated
Ko Powell.
- After seeing Montevallo tie the game back up in the bottom of the third on a solo shot, both the Warhawks and the Falcons would tally a run in the fourth to bring the score to 7-7. AUM took advantage of a Montevallo wild pitch, while the Falcons knotted the game up in the bottom half of the fourth on a sac fly to center.
- Montevallo slugged their second grand slam of the game in inning six and followed it up with a solo shot to lead 12-7.
- The Falcons used an RBI single down the left-field line in the seventh to score their final run, while the Warhawks got their final tally in the eighth on an RBI double from Arrington.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
- Of the 21 runs scored, 15 were tallied via the home run.
- The Warhawks finished one hit off of their season-high, outhitting the Falcons 15-14.
- Five different Warhawks logged a multi-hit night.

Logan Coleman (1-3) took the loss on the mound for AUM, surrendering five earned over 1.1 innings of relief.
