HOW IT HAPPENED
- Embry-Riddle cracked the scoreboard first in the game, hanging up five runs on four hits in the second. The Eagles used a sacrifice fly and an RBI fielder's choice to account for their first two runs of the inning, then took advantage of an AUM fielding error that prolonged the inning and allowed them to add three unearned runs on a pair of doubles and another sac fly.
- The Warhawks answered in inning number four with three runs to make it a 5-3 game. Cobb's two-run shot came with two outs and got the Warhawks on the board, while an RBI knock up the middle by Feaster plated Blackwell to score AUM's final run of the frame. The inning would come to a screeching halt on a Nix fly ball to deep left-center with two outs and runners on second and third that was hauled in by Embry-Riddle on a diving effort near the warning track.
- Embry-Riddle answered right away in their next at-bat, however, with two runs on a pair of hits to extend their lead to 7-3.
- The Eagles scored their final run of the game in inning number seven, on an RBI single through the right side to make it 8-3.
