Friesen Earns Second Consecutive CoSIDA Academic All-District Team Nod

MONTGOMERY, Ala. --- Hayden Friesen of the Auburn Montgomery baseball team has been named to the 2020 CoSIDA Academic All-District Team for NCAA Division II District 5. Thursday's (May 14) announcement marks for the second-straight season that Friesen has been named to the Academic All-District team by CoSIDA.  
 
Friesen (Midland City, Ala.) posted a .321 batting average in 11 games played in 2020, with seven runs batted in, four doubles and a slugging percentage of .464. The senior utility man batted .303 over his four-year stint with the Orange and Black, with 70 career base hits, 16 career doubles, 34 career runs scored and 29 career runs driven in. 
 
A Kinesiology major, Friesen posted a 3.51 undergraduate grade point average and a 3.80 graduate-level GPA. Friesen was recently accepted into physical therapy school at Gannon University in Ruskin, Fla., where he'll be pursuing his Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
 
The 2020 Academic All-District® Baseball and Softball Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
 
The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes baseball and softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and the NAIA.
 
Honorees selected first-team Academic All-District® will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. Academic All-America® honorees will be announced from June 8-11.
