Men’s Basketball Topped at Rollins

WINTER PARK, Fla. – The Auburn Montgomery Men's Basketball Team fell 101-77 at Rollins College on Saturday, Nov. 13 in their second contest of the 2021-22 season to drop to 1-1.
 
James Graham led a group of four Warhawks that scored in double figures with an AUM career-best 18 points. The junior forward shot 9-13 from the floor and pulled down six rebounds. 
 
Jeremiah Bozeman led the Warhawks in rebounds for the second-straight game, finishing with nine boards and 17 points. Isaiah Hart accounted for a game-high seven assists and 14 points while true freshman Gilbert Croley notched 13 points.
 
Three-point shooting proved to be the x-factor in Saturday's contest, with the Tars shooting 63 percent (17-27) on treys and holding AUM to just 24 percent (5-21) from beyond the arc. 
 
After conceding the first eight points of the game to the Tars, AUM would battle back with a 14-8 run to make the score 16-14 in favor of Rollins at the 10:43 mark in the first. Rollins would respond with five unanswered points to make it 21-14, followed by a 9-6 four-minute span to lead 30-20 at the 5:19 mark.
 
The Tars went on to outscore AUM 17-11 over the final five minutes and change of the first to lead 47-31 at halftime.  
 
Rollins kept their foot on the gas in the second half, shooting 55 percent (20-36) from the floor and 56 percent (9-16) on threes. The Tars outscored AUM 54-46 over the final 20 minutes to give way to the 101-77 final score. 
 
AUM shot 47 percent (17-36) on all field goals in the second half to finish the day just under 41 percent (29-71). AUM posted solid numbers from the free throw line for the second-straight contest, shooting 87 percent (14-16) from the charity stripe. 
 
The Warhawks notched 30 points in the paint, 21 points off Tar turnovers, 21 fast break points, and 17 second chance points on the day.
 
The men's basketball team will return to action on Friday, Nov. 19 when they take on Flagler College in Daytona Beach, Fla. at 4:00 p.m. (CST).
