West Florida started and remained in complete control of the first set against the Warhawks. The nationally-ranked Argos jumped out to an early 16-7 lead and kept control of the set until the very end, winning 25-12.
The second set saw a similar trend as the Argos were able to climb out to an early 14-5 lead over the Warhawks in the second set. AUM, however, was able to fight back in the second frame, cutting down the score to 17-15. Despite the efforts from AUM, West Florida was able to get back on track and secure the second set with a 25-18 victory.
Set three was dominated once again by the Argos as they were able to leap out to a 21-7 start before ultimately taking the final set of the match 25-8 to sweep the Warhawks. UWF will play host to the Gulf South Conference tournament that begins on Thursday.
The Warhawks will wait to see if they need to play an if necessary game against Mississippi College tomorrow. For all schedule updates, stay tuned to aumathletics.com as well as AUM's social media platforms.
