Men’s Basketball Edged by Georgia College, 67-63

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Despite a combined 46 points from the dynamic duo of James Graham and Isaiah Hart, the Auburn Montgomery Men's Basketball Team fell at home 67-63 to the Bobcats of Georgia College on Saturday, Nov. 27.
 
Hart accounted for an AUM career-high 27 points on a 10-19 shooting performance. The senior guard also dished out a team-high four assists while going a perfect 6-6 on three-point shots. 
 
Graham logged the first double-double by a Warhawks in 2021-22, with a 19-point, 15-rebound performance. Both numbers marked for an AUM career-best by the junior forward.
 
Jeremiah Bozeman finished with nine rebounds and four points while Jelal Williams swatted a game-high four blocks to go along with six boards and four points. 
 
Strahinja Ivic added six points on a pair of three-pointers, to go along with four rebounds. 
 
The Warhawks knocked down just four of their first 16 shots, but held the Bobcats to a 3-11 start to take an 8-7 lead into the second media timeout at the 11:55 mark.
 
From there, Georgia College would go on to knock down four of their next six shots as part of a 10-5 run to take a 17-13 lead at the 8:57 mark. 
 
AUM fought back by knocking down three of it's next four field goal's, however, to trim its deficit to just 21-20 after a Graham layup at the 6:23 mark. The Warhawks would go on to close out the half on a 16-9 run in which they knocked down seven of 10 shots to take a 36-30 lead into the break. 
 
The Bobcats scored the first 11 points of the second half to jump out to a 41-36 lead at the 15:07 mark, holding AUM to 0-9 from the field over the first four and a half minutes.
 
Georgia College's lead would hold all the way until the 5:05 mark, when a layup by Hart put AUM up 54-53. From there, both teams would swap leads until the Bobcats tied the contest at 61-61 with 2:04 to play.
 
The Bobcats scored six of the game's final eight points to help clinch the win, taking advantage of multiple key stops on defense and several successful free throws in crunch time.  
 
AUM finished the day at just under 40 percent (26-66)  on all field goals, highlighted by a season-high 40 percent (8-20) efficiency on three-point shots. The Warhawks out-rebounded Georgia College on the day, 40-36.
 
The Orange and Black additionally accounted for 28 bench points, 26 points in the paint, 14 points off turnovers, and 13 second-chance points.

Saturday's contest featured eight lead changes and five tied scores. 
 
The men's basketball team will continue its nonconference slate on Wednesday, Dec. 2 with a 7:00 p.m. matchup against Southeastern Baptist.
