Offensive Outpouring Leads Men’s Hoops to 116-64 Victory Over Southeastern Baptist

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Led by a triple-double from Isaiah Hart and 33 points from Sam Youngblood, the Auburn Montgomery Men's Basketball Team erupted offensively for a 116-64 win over Southeastern Baptist on Wednesday, Dec. 1.
 
Hart accounted for 29 points to go along with 13 assists and 10 rebounds, all career highs.The senior guard knocked down 13 of 17 shots, including three of four three-pointers. His triple-double marks for the first since the 2019-20 season for the men's basketball program.
 
Youngblood's career-high 33 points came on an 11-15 shooting night. The McCalla, Ala. native finished just one three shy from tying the program record, going 9-12 from downtown in the win.
 
Jeremiah Bozeman notched his first double-double of the season with a 17-point, 12-rebound performance. The senior guard finished just two assists away from a triple-double with a career-best eight. 
 
Roderick Smith also registered double-digit points with his 13-point, four-rebound night. Smith additionally blocked a game-high four shots. 
 
Both teams battled back and fourth over the first five minutes, with AUM holding a 9-7 lead at the 14:17 mark in the first. 
 
AUM would get red hot over the next three minutes and fifty seconds, rattling off a 16-6 run in which they shot 6-8 on field goals and a perfect four of four on threes. 
 
From there, the Warhawks expanded on their lead with a 17-11 run over the next five minutes to lead 42-24 at the 5:08 mark. AUM kept its foot on the gas to close out the half by knocking down eight of its final 10 shots as part of a 20-6 run to take a 62-30 lead into the break.
 
The Warhawks continued their hot-shooting ways in the second half, posting a 60 percent (21-35) field-goal efficiency and outscoring the Chargers 54-34 over the final 20 minutes.
 
AUM took advantage of a 23-6 run from the 13:16 to the 8:23 mark to increase its lead to 40 (94-54), followed by a 22-10 run to close out the game and give way to the 116-64 final score. 
 
The Warhawks 116 points marks for their highest tally in a game since the 2000-2001 season, when they knocked off Selma University 121-79 on the road on Jan. 25, 2001. 
 
AUM finished the game at 63 percent (46-73) on all field goals and 58 percent (14-24) on threes.  The Orange and Black out-rebounded the Chargers 44-30, in addition to logging 58 points in the paint, 48 bench points, and 33 points off of turnovers.
 
The Warhawks will open up conference play their next time out on Saturday, Dec. 4 when they take on Montevallo at 4:00 p.m. from Montevallo, Ala.
