Warhawks Grab 63-49 Home Win Over Georgia College

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn University at Montgomery women's basketball team used hot-shooting freshman guard Allasha Dudley to down the Georgia College Bobcats 63-49 at home on Saturday afternoon.

The Warhawks have now won three of their first four games of the season and now sit at 3-1 overall. Meanwhile, Georgia College falls to 2-4 on the season after the road loss.

Allasha Dudley and Jamya Tyus led the charge on offense for the Warhawks, both netting 13 points in the win. Senior center Demaurea
Moore led AUM on the class, grabbing eight rebounds, with Tyus adding seven to her total.

Georgia College was the hot team to begin the action in the first quarter, jumping out to an early 11-4 lead over the Warhawks. Tyus, Kailyn Farrell, and Catlin Carter helped AUM cut the lead down to 11-9 at the end of the quarter, but late free throws from the Bobcats gave Georgia College a 14-9 lead after one.

Dudley would come into the game early in the second quarter to help the Warhawks cut into the Georgia College lead. After Dudley's first 3-pointer of the game to pull AUM to within two, the Warhawks would outscore Georgia College 15-12 to end the second quarter and would only trail by two at the half.

AUM used the momentum gained from the second quarter into the start of the third quarter. A Moore jumper was able to give AUM their first lead of the game since the opening tip at 30-28 with 7:55 left in the third. Six-straight points from the Warhawks gave AUM a 40-36 lead before the Bobcats hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to put the Warhawk lead at 40-39 after three quarters.

AUM dominated play in the fourth quarter, outscoring Georgia College 23-10. The Warhawks found their stride from 3-point range as both Jordan Brewster and Dudley were able to nail multiple 3-pointers en route to AUM's 63-49 win over the Bobcats.

AUM will conclude their three-game homestand on Wednesday, December 1, when they welcome Southeastern Baptist to the AUM Gymnasium. The action from Montgomery is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
