Warhawks Take Care Of Business Against Southeastern Baptist For Fourth Straight Win

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn University at Montgomery women's basketball team concluded its three-game homestand with a commanding 74-38 win over Southeastern Baptist to win their fourth straight game.

The Warhawks now improve to 4-1 on the season and have now swept their three-game homestand with wins over Carver, Georgia College, and Southeastern Baptist.

Catlin Carter and Kailyn Farrell were able to lead the Warhawks in points against the Chargers, with Carter netting a team-high 14 and Farrell adding 10 points of her own. Scoring was spread out as 10 different players registered a point for AUM.

The first quarter was very slow-moving as the first four minutes went by with a score of 3-2 in favor of Southeastern Baptist. The Chargers led 8-5 with 3:12 left in the first quarter, but AUM ended the frame on a 4-0 run to take a 9-8 lead after one.

Despite almost three minutes going by without a point on either side, AUM was able to find their groove in the second period. The Warhawks scored 29 unanswered points in the second quarter to extend their lead to a massive portion of 36-8 and led 38-11 at halftime.

The Warhawks used a variety of scorers in the second half as the Warhawks were able to grow their lead despite the constant rotation of players. AUM was able to grab the last five points of the third quarter to take a 57-29 lead over the Chargers into the fourth quarter.

AUM's defense stood strong in the fourth quarter, aiming to win their fourth game in a row after dropping the season-opener. The Warhawks were able to come away with a 74-38 victory over Southeastern Baptist after a dominant fourth quarter.

The Warhawks will now turn their attention to the beginning of Gulf South Conference play when they travel to Montevallo for their next game to take on the Falcons. Action from Montevallo is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
