MONTGOMERY, Ala. ----- The Auburn University at Montgomery baseball team dropped both games of its doubleheader against No. 21 West Florida Saturday, falling 8-4 in the opener and 5-2 in the nightcap at Q.V. Lowe Field.

With the result, the Warhawks fell to 11-9 on the year and 9-9 in league play. The Argos improved to 14-5 overall and 13-5 in Gulf South Conference play.

AUM will return to action on Friday, March 19, when it travels to Huntsville, Ala., to open a three-game GSC series against UAH. First pitch is slated for 5 p.m.

Game One Recap
Casey Henderson and
Grayson Blackwell combined for five hits and four RBIs, but West Florida used a four-run eighth inning to pull away from the Warhawks for the victory.

Evan Floyd (4-0) scattered four hits and allowed just one run, while striking out seven in the victory for UWF.
Hunter Viets (1-4) was the tough-luck loser for AUM, allowing just three runs in 6 2/3 innings, while striking out five and walking none.

Cullan O'Shea opened the scoring with a solo home run in the top of the first inning, before the Warhawks tied the score up on an RBI single by Henderson in the third inning, scoring
Joseph Hartsfield.

The Argos answered with RBI singles in the sixth and seventh innings, respectively, by Matthew Estrada and True Fontenot. AUM pulled to within one at 3-2 on Blackwell's RBI single in the bottom of the seventh, but the four-run eighth put the game out of reach. The Warhawks added runs in the bottom of the eighth on an RBI single by Henderson, scoring
Mario Galloway, and a solo home run by Blackwell in the ninth to cap their scoring.

Game Two Recap
West Florida's Sean Means (2-1) tossed 4 2/3 innings of two-hit, no-run relief to help the Argos complete the sweep. Means struck out five and walked just two in relief of Tyler Dowdy, who tossed the opening 4 1/3 innings.

After AUM rallied from a two-run deficit with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, West Florida answered with two runs in the sixth and one in the seventh to provide the final margin.

Corey Armstrong led the Warhawks with three hits, a walk and a run scored.
Micah Henderson (4-1) scattered seven hits and allowed four runs in six innings of work in the defeat.
Logan Coleman and
Jax Morris each appeared on the mound, with Morris tossing 2 2/3 innings of no-hit relief for AUM.

West Florida scored in the fourth on a solo home run by O'Shea and an RBI double by Fontenot in the fifth, before the Warhawks tied the score in the bottom of the fifth inning on a sacrifice fly by both
Quinterrious Arrington and
Zach Feaster.

The Argos took the lead for good on a Sam Clement RBI double and added to its lead on a run-scoring single by Miller Hancock in the top of the sixth inning. Joey Wozniak completed the scoring with a sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh.

Roberts led the Argos with two hits, while O'Shea hit his second home run of the day and walked three times.
