Men’s Tennis Pushes Win Streak To Five With 5-2 Win Over West Alabama

MONTGOMERY, Ala. In a showdown between two programs receiving votes in the national polls, the Auburn University at Montgomery men's tennis team extended its winning streak to five matches with a 5-2 victory over Gulf South Conference foe West Alabama on Saturday afternoon.

AUM pushes their record to 8-5 on the year and is now 3-2 in Gulf South Conference play. West Alabama, meanwhile, drops to .500 on the year with a 5-5 mark in 2021.

West Alabama captured the first point of the afternoon, taking two of the three doubles courts to go up 1-0 early on AUM. The Warhawks were able to rebound by taking five points in singles action to secure the win.

The Warhawks won't need to travel very far for their next match as they will head north to Montevallo to take on the Falcons on Wednesday, April 7. The match against the rival Falcons is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
