Volleyball Takes Down CBU 3-2 in GSC Play

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Auburn University at Montgomery's volleyball team earned a 3-2 victory at Christian Brothers on Friday night at Canale Arena in Gulf South Conference play. 
 
The Warhawks trailed 2-1 and won the fourth and fifth set to claim the victory behind season highs from Giulia Santuari.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Christian Brothers got off to a hot start and AUM trailed 1-8. AUM settled in and chipped away at the lead before taking full control of the set at 20-19 and winning the set 25-22. 
  • CBU held a five-point lead in the second set and held the lead for the entire set and won 25-23 to tie the match at 1-1. 
  • The third set was dominated by Christian Brothers. The Buccaneers led 20-9 and the Warhawks made a run, but it was not enough and CBU took the set 25-17 and a 2-1 lead in the match. 
  • AUM trailed 21-23 in the fourth set and found more gas in the tank by scoring six of the next eight points to win the fourth set 27-25 and force a fifth set. 
  • Auburn Montgomery dominated the fifth set, winning it 15-6 and claiming the 3-2 victory.
