COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Newcomer Jalen Gaston scored a game-high 27 points, and fellow newcomer Joseph Lanzi tallied 23 points, but the Auburn University at Montgomery men's basketball team fell 85-83 against Rollins College at the South Region Tip-Off Challenge.
Making their Warhawk debuts, Gaston and Lanzi combined to score 50 points in the contest and made 20 total field goals. Gaston went 11-for-21 from the field and 3-of-7 from three-point territory, while Lanzi converted on 9-of-15 shooting with a 5-of-10 mark from downtown.

- AUM came out of the gate with a hot-shooting start, as the Warhawks knocked down their first four field goal attempts.
- The hot shooting continued throughout the game for both teams. Rollins shot 53 percent (32-for-61) from the floor, while AUM went 32-for-62 (52 percent).
- James Graham's 11 rebounds were a game-best, and AUM out-rebounded the Tars 33-29.
- The two teams combined to turn the ball over 37 times. The Warhawks coughed up 20 turnovers, while Rollins totaled 17.
- Gaston's 27 points were a game-high.
- Lanzi knocked down five three-pointers, which led the way for the Warhawks.
- Both teams combined to hit 23 three-pointers. The combined three-point shooting percentage in the game was 62 percent.
- Hutton Yenor led the way in scoring with 20 points on 7-of-10 shooting for the Tars.
