AUM Volleyball Drops Match at Valdosta State

VALDOSTA, Ga. - The Auburn University at Montgomery volleyball team lost a road match at Valdosta State University on Thursday night at The Complex in Gulf South Conference play by a final score of 2-3. 
 
The Warhawks held a 2-0 lead going into the third set and Valdosta State won three straight sets to take the conference match.

Score:  AUM 2, VSU 3 (25-19, 25-12, 23-25, 21-25, 12-15)

HIGHLIGHTS
  • AUM held a 20-10 lead in the first set and Valdosta State found some momentum to bring the score to 24-19 and a kill by Ylenia De Mango ended the set and the Warhawks took and early 1-0 lead. 
  • The Warhawks jumped out to an 8-1 lead in the second set. Later in the set, AUM used a 5-0 run to take full control of the set and eventually won 25-12. 
  • The third set was back-and-forth with neither team gaining full control of the set. AUM rallied off a 7-1 run to take a 22-19 lead and the Blazers battled back into it with a 6-1 run to win set three. 
  • The fourth set was much like the third as Valdosta State pulled away and got the 25-21 win. 
  • Valdosta State came out on top in the fifth set after trailing 10-7 and finished the set on a 8-2 run to win the match 3-2.
