2022 GSC CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS
MONTEVALLO, Ala. -- Freshman Kenlie Nelson battled to a 17th-place overall finish to earn Second Team All-Gulf South Conference honors, and the Auburn University at Montgomery women's cross country team earned its highest team finish in the NCAA Division II era at the 2022 Gulf South Conference Championships held at the University of Montevallo cross country course.

SCORING FIVE
- Nelson's time of 19:12.70 was good enough to place 17th overall in a field of 97 competitors.
- Isabella Gyori posted a time of 20:07.10 to finish 39th for the Warhawks.
- Abagail Little finished 41st and recorded a time of 20:12.70 on the 5K course.
- Nicole Luther finished right behind Little in 42nd place overall. She crossed the finish line in a time of 20:16.10.
- Phoebe Onkware surged into the fifth scoring spot for the Warhawks as she covered the course in 20:28.70.
NOTABLES
- Nelson's time was three-tenths of a second off of her season best and missed out on the conference's Freshman of the Year award by just two seconds.
- She is also the first AUM runner in the NCAA Division II era to earn All-GSC honors.
- Nelson also adds another Top-10 time to the Warhawks' record books in 5K races.
- The Warhawks also posted the squad's highest team-finish in the NCAA Division II era.
