Men’s Hoops Falls to Flames on the Road

CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The Auburn Montgomery Men's Basketball Team fell 74-60 to the Lee Flames in Gulf South Conference action on Saturday, Feb. 6, dropping to 8-14 overall and 5-9 in GSC play.
 
Isaiah Hart led AUM with 22 points on a 9-17 shooting night. Hart also added three assists and three rebounds.
 
James Graham logged his fourth double-double of the season with a 19-point, 13-rebounds performance. Roderick Smith accounted for seven points and seven boards while Jelal Williams swatted a team-high three shots and pulled down five rebounds.
 
AUM knocked down six of its first 12 shots to hold a 13-12 lead at the 10:19 minute mark in the first after a driving layup from Hart. From there, Lee would go on to outscore the Warhawks 19-6 to take a 31-19 lead into the break.
 
The Warhawks fought their way back into the game with a 10-6 run to begin the half, with a layup by Hart at the 15:03 mark making the score just 37-29 in favor of Lee. AUM got to within seven after a pair of Hart free throws cut the score to 42-35 with 13:30 to play.
 
Lee would go on to put the game out of reach with 17-4 run over the next five minutes, in which they sank seven of nine shots. From there, Lee would go on to outscore the Warhawks 30-25 the rest of the way to give way to a 74-60 final.
 
AUM finished the day shooting 37 percent (22-59) from the floor. The Warhawks converted on just 16 percent (2-12) of their three-point attempts but knocked down 82 percent (14-17) of their foul shots.
 
Saturday's game featured five lead changes and four tied scores.
 
The Warhawks will return to the hardwood on Thursday, Feb. 10 when they host Valdosta State at 8:00 p.m. from the AUM Gymnasium.
