Warhawks Plunder Buccaneers 7-0

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. – The Auburn University at Montgomery men's tennis team found their winning ways against Gulf South Conference foe Christian Brothers on Wednesday afternoon, taking down the Buccaneers 7-0 on the road.

AUM moves to 5-4 on the year and remains perfect in Gulf South Conference action with a 2-0 record. Christian Brothers, meanwhile, drops to 5-8 on the year with a 1-4 mark in GSC play.


The doubles point was tightly contested between the two programs, as the first two courts were split. The pairing of Giovanni Bellio and David Mulas in the second flight secured a 6-3 win to give AUM the doubles point and the 1-0 early lead.


AUM was able to cruise to victory after securing the doubles point, as David Rieme, Mulas, and Bellio won in straight sets to capture the three points needed for the victory. AUM would sweep singles play to win 7-0.

The Warhawks will remain on the road and head to Searcy, Arkansas, to take on #30 Harding University tomorrow. The action is set to begin at 10 a.m.
