#20 Flames Defeat #36 AUM 5-2 In Men’s Tennis

CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The 36th-ranked Auburn University at Montgomery men's tennis team dropped a tight 5-2 road Gulf South Conference match to the Lee Flames on Friday afternoon in the first of a quick two-match road trip.

The Warhawks fall to 8-7 on the year and drop their first Gulf South Conference match of the season and now stand at 3-1 in GSC play. The Flames, meanwhile, improve to 10-4 in 2022 with a 4-3 mark in conference action.

After falling in the first doubles court, Joao Guariente and Nino Portugal tied the doubles contests up at one apiece. However, the Warhawks would ultimately fall in doubles play and fell behind 1-0 early.

A win in the second singles slot from Muhamad Bedwan brought the contest to 2-1, and a win from Giovanni Bellio kept AUM in the match momentarily, but the Flames would pull away with a 5-2 win over the Warhawks.
