TEMPE, Ariz. – Eight members of the Auburn University at Montgomery women's tennis team and one member from the men's squad were named an ITA scholar-athlete, while both the men's and women's teams were named to the all-academic award list.
On the women's side,
Alba De La Torre,
Estefania Garcia,
Ane Ibarra,
Nahia Izco, Lea-Alessandra Mazzella,
Sofia Mustre,
Isabella Pinto, and
Ana Villalvazo were all named scholar-athletes after great years in the classroom. As a team, the Warhawks finished with a 3.79 GPA in the classroom.
On the men's side,
Thibault Jacq was the lone representative for AUM on the scholar-athlete award list. Jacq finished the semester with a perfect 4.0 average while studying kinesiology. As a team, the Warhawks posted a 3.21 GPA this academic year.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) for the current academic year and must be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
To be named to the ITA All-Academic Team, the team must have a grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.0 scale). The team also must list all student-athletes on the institutional eligibility form, and all varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
