MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- Mayson Jaindl scored a goal for the fourth consecutive game, but the Auburn University at Montgomery women's soccer team suffered a 2-1 setback against Christian Brothers University on Sunday afternoon.

HIGHLIGHTS

• Christian Brothers found the first goal of the game in the 13th minute when Julia Valentin scored her fourth goal of the season.
• Lia Häggstöm registered the assist for CBU.
• AUM found an immediate answer, however, as a Mayson Jaindl header off an Anila Mantello free kick in the 14th minute tied the game 1-1.
• The first half ended with a tied score as both sides tallied a goal on a pair of shots.
• The Warhawks weathered an early second-half storm from CBU as the Lady Bucs posted five shots in the first eight minutes of the second half.
• CBU eventually found the go-ahead goal in the 77th minute when Mya Gargone ripped a ball from the right edge of the 18-yard box that glanced off the goalkeeper's hand and found the side netting. 
• The Lady Bucs held the Warhawks silent in the game's closing minutes to secure the win.

STATS OF THE GAME

• Jaindl scored the 25th goal of her AUM career. She sits in seventh place all-time in the record book in that category.

"I am proud of our effort, but we were lacking quality at times today," said head coach Julianne Herrity. "We had a great reaction to their goal by bouncing back and getting a goal to jump right back into the game, but disappointed with the result afterward. As always, now it is time to recover and move on to the next one on Wednesday night back here at home."

The Warhawks remain at home to take on Albany State University on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 6 p.m. at the AUM Soccer Complex as part of AUM's Warhawk Spotlight Series. Free food and free admission will be available to AUM students with a valid Student ID.
