MONTGOMERY, Ala. —- Montevallo entered Friday's match undefeated in Gulf South Conference play and riding a 10-match winning streak, but
Kendall McCain recorded her fifth double-double of the season to lead the Auburn University at Montgomery volleyball team to a 3-2 victory at the AUM Gymnasium.
McCain finished with 19 kills and 15 digs, leading the Warhawks in each category.
Ylenia De Mango added 12 kills, while five AUM players finished in double figures in digs.
Kyla Ffrench finished with seven kills, two solo blocks and four block assists in the victory.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Montevallo took control of the first set with six straight points to take a 12-5 advantage. Trailing 20-16, the Warhawks closed the stanza with a 9-2 spurt behind a pair of aces by Reann Cato and kills by McCain, Ffrench and Alessia Cappai, to take a 1-0 advantage in the match.
- The Falcons broke a 3-3 tie with five consecutive points and never relinquished the lead to even the match at a set apiece.
- Montevallo led 13-12 midway through the third set, before the Warhawks scored six straight points and seized control of the set. During the run, AUM had two kills by De Mango, as well as kills from McCain, and Giulia Santuari. Cappai added an ace and Santuari a solo block. After an attack error, the Warhawks closed the set with a 7-0 run, six of which came with Savannah Sebek serving.
- The Warhawks maintained the momentum in set four, scoring the first six points. However, trailing 17-12 in the set, the Falcons closed the period with a 13-3 run to force a fifth set.
- AUM never trailed in the fifth set, using a trio of 3-0 runs to take a 13-9 advantage. McCain's 18th kill of the evening gave the Warhawks match point, before her 19th finish was the match clincher.
STATS OF THE MATCH
- McCain finished with 21 points in the victory, adding a service ace and two block assists to her final stat line. She had just one attack error in 44 swings, hitting .409 for the match.
- De Mango added six digs, a solo block and two block assists.
- Roberta Monticelli and Amber Bretwisch each tallied 12 digs in the contest. Bretwisch added 25 assists in the match.
- Cappai finished with nine kills, 10 digs, three aces and a block assist.
- Cato had nine digs and two service aces in the win.
- Santuari recorded seven kills on 16 swings, while chipping in a solo block, two assists and one dig.
- Dariona Dash returned to play in her first match since August 27 at Ouachita Baptist.
- Macy Martin led Montevallo with 18 kills and 13 digs.
- Allie Dishman posted 16 kills, four aces, four block assists and two digs for the Falcons.
