Men's Basketball Uses Big Second Half to Take Down West Florida

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn University at Montgomery men's basketball team took care of business on Monday against the University of West Florida by winning 98-75 inside the AUM Athletics Complex in Gulf South Conference play.  
 
The Warhawks had a season-high shooting percentage of 74% going 38-of-51 and connected on 14 three-point shots.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • West Florida got the game started with a three-pointer from Sano Rutatika. The Argos maintained the lead for most of the first half and took a 12-point lead after Channick Nkoma made two free throws at the 6:33 mark. 
  • AUM connected on five three-pointers in the final 5:35 of the first half and took a 41-37 lead into the halftime break. 
  • AUM held a 53-49 lead with 14:19 left in the game and James Graham went on a 9-0 run by himself to put AUM up 62-49.
  • Sam Youngblood connected on a three-pointer at the 4:49 mark in the second half to give AUM a 24-point lead. 
  • Jelal Williams put the cherry on top with a fastbreak dunk with just under 90 seconds to go in the game.
NOTABLES
  • Joseph Lanzi led AUM in scoring with 24 points and was 10-of-13 from the floor and 4-of-7 from beyond the arc. Lanzi scored 13 points in the first 12 minutes of the game. 
  • Travis Anderson recorded his first double-double of the season with 18 points and 10 assists. 
  • James Graham posted 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds. The Maywood, Illinois native swatted six shots. 
  • Sam Youngblood scored 14 points and connected on two shots from long range.
  • Jalen Gaston chipped in with 10 points.
  • AUM went 14-of-22 from three-point range and shot 74.5% from the field going 38-of-51.
