MONTEVALLO, Ala. -- The Auburn University at Montgomery women's basketball team struggled to shoot the ball from beyond the three-point arc as the University of Montevallo sprinted to an 80-58 win over the Warhawks on Saturday afternoon at Trustmark Arena.

10 different AUM Warhawks scored at least two points, while Jamya Tyus led the way with 10 points in the game.

HIGHLIGHTS

• The Falcons opened up a 19-16 lead after a back-and-forth opening quarter. Trinity Hambright scored four points in the first quarter, and seven different Warhawk players scored at least two points.
• A Tyus layup capped a quick 4-0 spurt to give AUM a 20-19 lead to start the second, but Montevallo had the answer.
• The Falcons used an 11-2 run to build an eight-point advantage at the second quarter media timeout and maintained a 34-30 lead at halftime.
• Montevallo exploded for a 25-11 advantage in the third quarter to take control.
• An 18-9 run to close the third and open the fourth stanza saw the Falcons build a 70-50 lead to ice the game with 5:55 to play in the game.

NOTABLES

• 10 different players that appeared in the game for the Warhawks scored at least two points.
• Both teams combined to shoot 38-for-45 at the foul line in the contest. AUM was 18-of-20, while UM went 20-of-25.
• The Warhawks struggled at the three-point line, as they shot just 2-for-19 from downtown.
• Montevallo committed just 10 turnovers, while the Warhawks turned it over 28 times.
• AUM out-rebounded the Falcons 46-35.
