First-Half Onslaught Sends Men's Soccer Past Montevallo

MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- The Auburn University at Montgomery men's soccer team used a three-goal onslaught in the first half to jump all over the University of Montevallo and secure an important three points in Gulf South Conference action.

Ivan Gonzalez tallied his first goal for AUM, and Nick Atkinson added his sixth goal of the season and sits in a tie for third place in the league in goals scored.

  • Four minutes into the match, Sean Keane's second goal of the campaign gave AUM an early advantage.

  • The Warhawks opened up a 3-0 lead at the break when Atkinson poked a Logan Roach long pass into the back of the net in the 32nd minute.
  • Montevallo found a goal in the 87th minute when Otger Vendrell scored the first goal of his season for the purple and gold.
