ORLANDO, Fla. - The Auburn University at Montgomery volleyball team took down Saint Leo University on Saturday in the final match of the Sunshine State/Gulf South Conference Crossover in Orlando, Florida inside Game Points Event Center by a final score of 3-1.

HIGHLIGHTS
- The opening set was back-and-forth as neither team could gain momentum and build a significant lead until Alessia Cappai delivered a kill to help rally AUM to three more points and take a 12-9 lead. The Lions quickly tied it back at 12 each. The remainder of the set was close the entire way and a kills from Keren Santana and Kyla Ffrench captured the set for AUM 25-23.
- Amber Bretwisch served a five-point rally to begin set two and powered AUM to a 5-0 lead. The Warhawks used a 6-0 run later in the set to gain a 17-8 lead over Saint Leo. The Lions battled back, but Santana posted a kill to give AUM a 2-0 lead in the match.
- The Warhawks began set three with a 5-2 lead after a kill from Myllena Torquetti. Saint Leo regained control of the set after scoring eight unanswered points and held a 14-8 lead. Auburn Montgomery regained the lead at 23-22 after a kill from Ruth Sconocchini and then Saint Leo scored three points to force a fourth set.
- Saint Leo took an early lead, but the Orange & Black went on a 6-0 run to gain a 13-9 lead. The two teams battled the remainder of the set and Cappai ended it with a kill from Savannah Sebek to give the Warhawks a 25-20 victory in the set and claim the 3-1 match.
STATS OF THE MATCH
- Cappai tied her career-high of 21 kills. She has had 21 kills in three separate games. She also had 14 digs.
- Santana and Fitzgerald had 26 digs each and both were season-highs.
- Bretwisch dished 29 assists, good for a season-high. Sebek went for 26 assists.
- Santuari and Sconocchini accumulated 12 kills each.
- Ffrench posted a season-high of six total blocks.

Flavia Siqueira said. "Saint Leo challenged us by playing defense very well during the rest of the match. It was important for us to be able to bounce back with a few adjustments in the fourth set and win the game."
