Luckey's Double-Double Sends Women's Hoops Past Arkansas Monticello

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Auburn University at Montgomery women's basketball team took down the University of Arkansas at Monticello 63-54 Saturday afternoon inside the AUM Athletics Complex in the Warhawks home-opener.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • UAM took an early 5-0 lead, but AUM responded with an 8-0 run after Tian Addison made a layup in transition at the 7:09 mark in the first quarter. 
  • Gabby Litvak buried a three-pointer, which eventually sparked a 7-0 run for AUM to close the first quarter with a 20-11 lead. 
  • Jamya Tyus sunk a free-throw in the second quarter to extend the Warhawk lead to double-digits at 25-15.
  • Allasha Dudley and Addison connected on back-to-back shots from beyond the arc and AUM owned a 17 points lead. UAM scored a layup to end the half with the Orange & Black leading 40-25. 
  • In the third quarter, the Cotton Blossoms battled back and brought the score within five, but the Warhawks held a 51-43 lead at the end of the quarter. 
  • AUM brought the lead back to 12 after Tyus made a fastbreak layup off a steal with just over four minutes in the fourth quarter. 
  • The Cotton Blossoms came back and trailed by four points, but Dudley found the dagger with a three-pointer at the one-minute mark to propel the Warhawks to the 63-54 victory. 



NOTABLES

  • Luckey posted her first double-double of the season with 14 points and 12 rebounds. She also added a blocked shot and a pair of steals. 
  • Addison led in the scoring column for AUM with 20 points and dished out six assists. She brought down five rebounds. 
  • Brianna Sanchez also had double-digit boards with 10. She scored six points in the matchup. 
  • Jamya Tyus played 15 minutes and scored 10 points. 
  • Dudley scored eight points and picked up five assists.
